New MD, GM at Apollo’s Zimbabwe Operation
Two new senior appointments have been made at the Apollo Tyres’ owned companies Dunlop Zimbabwe and National Tyre Services (NTS). In a statement, Dunlop Tyres Group chief executive officer, Dr. Luis Ceneviz, said Mr. Kennedy Mandevani, who is currently Dunlop Zimbabwe managing director, will assume the position of group managing director for National Tyre Services. Mandevani’s portfolio will cover both NTS and Dunlop, said Ceneviz.
Mandevani will be assisted by Mr. Cleopas Makoni, who has been appointed NTS general manager. Makoni’s most recent position has been that of NTS financial director. Incumbent NTS managing director, Mark Vickery, is leaving the company.
“The Apollo Tyres Group of India has a presence in Zimbabwe through its shareholding in Dunlop and National Tyre Services,” commented Ceneviz. “Given the trading environment in this market, a decision has been made to bring these two companies closer to each other. The principal objective is to deliver increased synergistic benefits to all stakeholders.”
