Michelin Postpones Challenge Bibendum 2009
Michelin reports that, due to the depth of the current economic crisis, it has decided to postpone the Challenge Bibendum scheduled to take place in Brazil during April 2009 until the following year. The tyre major expresses its regret in doing so, however it adds the decision was made after taking into account the increasing financial constraints experienced by several of Challenge Bibendum’s traditional partners. Many of these partners would have been unable to participate to the extent they have in the past, Michelin comments.
In a press statement, Michelin says the company “will make the most of 2009 and all the findings that it will bring, to prepare a Challenge Bibendum of an even higher standard”. To this end, Michelin believes, existing contacts and partnerships will be further strengthened. In the interval between now and the next running of the event the Challenge Bibendum organising team will propose a series of different initiatives to the Challenge Bibendum partners to stimulate ongoing debates on the future of road mobility.
The company expresses its thanks to the public authorities and event partners for the support that they have already given in the early preparations for this event.
