Goodyear Appoints New Luxembourg Tech Head
Formerly general director of the Goodyear R&D Technical Centre in the United States, Marc Junio, has been named the new general director of the company’s Luxembourg Technical Centre in Colmar-Berg. His appointment sees him taking over the role from Joe Zekoski, vice president Global Product Development & Technical Centre Operations, who will repatriate to Akron, Ohio.
Junio joined Goodyear Luxembourg in 1977 as tyre compounder, and became manager of the Tyre-Vehicle Engineering Technology & Tyre Performance Modeling division in 1997. He held the position of Regional Director of Technology from 2001 until 2007 before taking over the lead of the Akron Technical Centre until the end of 2008. A native of Luxembourg holds a Masters in Chemistry from The University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He is married and a father of one son.
The Technical Centre in Colmar-Berg is the largest R&D centre of Goodyear in Europe and the second worldwide after the head offices in Akron. With more than 900 scientists, GTC*L performs research, development and testing of passenger, truck and farm tyres for the European, the African and the Asian markets.
