Conti Cutting North American Workforce by 10%, Reports Newspaper
An article published by the Detroit Free Press states Continental AG expects to reduce its North American workforce by approximately 10 per cent this year. This information was obtained through an interview with the North American unit’s CEO Samir Salman, indicates the Detroit based daily.
These cuts will affect between 700 and 1,000 people, said Salman, and are being made as a cost reduction measure to meet lower production volumes and as part of the company’s efforts to integrate the operations of automotive electronics maker Siemens VDO. Conti also is considering adjustments to the number of hours its salaried employees work, Salman added.
