WSCC Fastest Time Recorded on Toyo Tyres
Garry Bunn, a competitor in the Westfield Sports Car Club Speed Series, recorded fastest time of the day (FTD) at a sprint at Thoresby Park in Nottingham in September using the road legal Toyo Proxes R888 (soft compound). To achieve FTD means his time was quicker than all the others cars, irrespective of class, vehicle make or power output competing on the day, some of which were running on full racing slicks.
Bunn commented: “Having run the car on list normal road tyres (list 1a) for a few years now it was a surprise to see how the R888’s gripped. Over the season my confidence in them has grown and the run to get FTD at Thoresby Park felt amazing. It’s nice as well to get the support from the factories, both Toyo and Westfield, in supply, pricing and technical support.”
The Westfield Sports Car Club Speed Series is a national championship and can accommodate all Westfield cars, from the standard road-going cars to the fully modified cars running slicks and wings, in various classes, and consists of 25 sprint and hill-climb events held at venues throughout the UK from April to October.
