Toyo Returns to Autosport
As 2008 draws to a close, Tyres & Accessories is looking forward to who will be exhibiting what at the 2009 Aftermarket/Autosport show. Arguably the biggest news is that Toyo is returning to the 2009 show, which will run from 8 – 11 January at the NEC in Birmingham, after having stepped back from it in 2008. Toyo Tire has booked a 120 square metre stand at Autosport 2009, and will be exhibiting road going, track day, slick and drag tyres.
According to the company Toyo will be showcasing a “fantastic range of tyres” in front of over 84,000 visitors, including over 28,000 trade buyers and over 800 companies involved in the business of motorsport and related industries. Toyo’s thinking is that, with this number and range of participants, the “it just wouldn’t be the same” without them. Visitors will also have the chance to win a set of the renowned Proxes R888 road legal track tyres.
“Toyo Tires are truly at home at Autosport as our presence is renowned at such high profile shows and events. We exhibit at the Goodwood festival of speed, at the British International Motorshow and many more of the UK’s motorsport and modified car events and shows,” company officials told T&A.
Alan Meaker, Toyo’s motorsports manager added: “Toyo are relatively new to the motorsport arena compared to other manufacturers but have achieved great success in all areas of the sport and we are fast becoming the tyre of choice by many competitors and championships. Not only will we have interactive displays and a multi-media area, but there will also be plenty of fun-packed action going on at the stand with the legendary Mark Parmenter on the mic, giving away an exciting array of freebies, prizes and merchandise.”
Talk Shop
Regular visitors to the Aftermarket Show will be familiar with the TalkShop interactive presentation forum. This feature will be back in 2009 and once again gives technicians the opportunity to walk away with useful products or promotional giveaways.
TalkShop provides a unique blend of aftermarket news, views, guests and debate, and it gives visitors the opportunity to learn and ask questions about industry matters on subjects as varied as diagnostic or diesel smokemeter legislation changes, garage standards schemes and the Right to Repair Campaign. It also allows potential customers to view and try various products before they actually purchase.
TalkShop offers exhibitors a unique opportunity to promote their company and its products to visitors from two very different audiences – the aftermarket trade and the general public. Australian-based Nulon, will be one of these exhibitors as they plan to use the forum to promote their, and I quote, “Start Ya Bastard” aerosol.
Fenton Rixon, project manager for The Aftermarket Show, said: “TalkShop will again inform and entertain visitors and give exhibitors an unrivalled platform from which to promote their businesses and with the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, it’s sure to be busier than ever.”
