Hofmann Megaplan Present “Major” New Models
Hofmann Megaplan, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high performance tyre equipment, has recently introduced two new models into their range; the ‘Spacy’ and ‘The Major’.
The Megamount Spacy represents an evolution of a model that the company says was a commercial hit, the popular 701XL model. According to Hofmann Megaplan, the 701XL has established itself as the best selling tyre changer in its class within the UK tyre and wheel industry, leaving the new edition plenty to live up to. The Spacy offers an identical specification to the 701XL, put together in a smaller package to reduce the area needed to operate the machine. The Spacy has the demount head swing up and away, as opposed to tilting back, as it does on a traditional column, allowing the space in which the machine works to be used more economically.
The Spacy was launched at the Automechanika exhibition and the unit displayed in Frankfurt was shipped to the UK immediately after the show to satisfy an order for Saxongate Tyres in Bedford. Saxongate was looking for a machine with the capabilities of the 701XL, but which took up minimal space.
The other new addition to Hofmann Megaplan’s catalogue The Major is based on the “lever-less” design that is becoming a more familiar sight as rims get larger and aspect ratios decrease. The Major, the company says, will handle rims sized up to 30” without any need for either levers or effort.
The company has announced that the first ten units will be offered at an introductory price of £6995 (plus the newly-reduced VAT). Video demonstrations of both new models are available for viewing shortly on HMTV, the video content section of the Hofmann Megaplan website.
