Goodyear Dunlop Secures Hargreaves Fleet Deal
Goodyear Dunlop’s Truck team have secured a fleet deal with Hargreaves Services, the UK’s biggest bulk haulage company. The deal will see 879 vehicles fitted with the latest Max Technology tyres from Goodyear during the company’s five year contract with the truck tyre giant.
Hargreaves Services covers the whole of the UK and is a major force in the supply, movement and management of mineral resources. It also provides support services to the energy and waste industries. The four operating divisions of the company cover everything from road haulage to recycling and waste disposal, mining and supply of fuels and minerals, moving 10 million tonnes of product a year. This fleet of vehicles will run on a range of Goodyear and Dunlop products including the company’s mixed service range Omnitrac, which delivers durability and efficiency whilst working both on and off the road.
Goodyear’s Max Technology also forms a major part of this fleet, covering Hargreaves tanker range. The range was launched in 2008 and consists of Regional RHSII, Marathon LHSII and Marathon LHDII tyres, which Goodyear says offer the truck operator improved fuel consumption, increased mileage and lower running costs. Goodyear Max Technology consists of KMax, FuelMax and AirMax.
KMax Technology is for regional haul applications, which have been developed to maximize tyre mileage, allow a wide application range and improve fuel consumption to reduce cost per mile. FuelMax is for long haul tyres, attempting to improve fuel consumption and reduce emissions, while providing enhanced mileage and wet braking performance. The AirMax Technology concept is to increase the air volume inside a tyre without increasing its diameter. Goodyear explains that this has a wide range of benefits including increased load capacity, lower operating costs and less road damage.
As part of this five-year fleet deal, Hargreaves Services will also be utilising Goodyear Dunlop’s TruckForce network, which gives the company access to a network of more than 1,550 European wide tyre support workshops, ServiceLine 24hr to provide 24/7 roadside assistance and FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS), an internet based tyre management programme. This programme will allow Hargreaves Fleet Managers greater control over its tyre management, allowing for improved efficiency with the added convenience of remote operator access.
Nigel Sowerby, Goodyear Dunlop Truck Director said: “We are thrilled to have the Hargreaves group join our impressive fleet portfolio. Such a prestigious fleet win is testament to the quality of the products and services we offer our customers.”
