Rosava Buys Vipo Bead Winder
CJSC Rosava has reportedly acquired new machinery for “mid-range” passenger car tyre production from Slovakian machinery maker Vipo. According to a statement on the deal, the company’s long-term investment project includes manufacturing “medium-class passenger and light truck tyres with 14 to 18-inch rim diameters.” Vipo has supplied a “libepal” bead winding line. Rosava reportedly spent 755,500 euros (US$951,930 dollars) on the technology.
In October 2007 the company held a tender to buy the bead winding machine and the Slovak company was named as the winner. The machine’s advantages are the ability to produce perspective tyre models and absence of necessity of such operations as joining bead fillers and curing the joints.
The new machinery has successfully been tested in Slovakia by the producer with the participation of Rosava representatives. The machine has already arrived at its destination where it has been prepared installation on the shop floor. Full installation was scheduled to start today 26 November 2008, with the new machinery scheduled for 19 December 2008 launch.
