DQN Presents Low-Profile, Runflat Fitters
Antwerp, Belgium-based tyre changer manufacturer DQN – Du Quesne is going into its 80th anniversary year with its Pro-Fit and Trident machinery. The company believes that the duo, when used together, represents an excellent solution for “effortless mounting and demounting of low-profile and runflat tyres.”
While the company has offered the Pro-Fit in the past, its newly designed and patented accompanying tool, the Trident, should aid the mounting and demounting process for the most rigid tyres. The Trident is placed under the rim edge when pushing down the upper bead with the helping arm. Then, as the wheel rotates, the tool automatically fixes itself into position and the bead is guided – without other intervention – into the rim base, no matter the resistance of the tyre.
This ingenious tool is designed specifically to help the Pro-Fit tyre changer, allowing effortless mounting of runflat and low-profile tyres between 10’’ and 23” (though this figure can be raised up to 26” with the +3” optional Claws). The combined use of the runflat arm and the Trident also prevents the tyre from creeping back over the rim when the turntable rotates. The company’s website, www.dqn.be, contains a demonstration film, showing exactly how the two products interact.
Meanwhile, to focus on the senior partner in the combination, the Pro-Fit tyre changer is a robust machine intended for long-lasting, intensive use. The company believes that it is a strong and powerful machine that is maintenance-friendly, efficient through electro-mechanical simplicity and, so DQN says, fool-proof, despite its more rugged features.
DQN – Du Quesne has been a specialist in tyre changers since 1929, with quality and efficiency lending it a worldwide reputation and helping it to reach 80 years in business. The company will be present at four shows in 2009, including AutoPromoTec in Bologna (Hall 22, Stand A18) and Brityrex in Manchester (Stand 41), as well as Amsterdam’s AutovakRai and Equip’Auto in Paris.
