DHL Europe Launches Tyre Industry Transport Solution
Logistics provider DHL is introducing across Europe a new patented solution for transporting tyres to market. The company calls the product ‘DHL Tyrebox’ and reports it is a convenient, cost saving and environmentally friendly method of packaging. The Tyrebox, says DHL, offers a unique solution to the conventional challenge of transporting tyres, turning them from a non-conveyable shipment into a conveyable one, allowing tyres to be easily stacked together and delivered flat-packed.
“We have initially launched the DHL Tyrebox with some customers in the automotive industry and it has had very positive feedback,” commented Paul Coutts, executive vice president Marketing & Sales, DHL Express Europe. ‘’At DHL we continuously aim to innovate and deliver industry-leading solutions. The DHL Tyrebox is an example of this and one that demonstrates that innovation is sometimes in creating a simple product which makes all the difference to customers.”
Customers can use the box in a variety of ways for their own marketing, adds DHL. An optional centre box can be added for easier distribution of company literature and ancillary items and the box can be branded. In addition, customers can choose from a variety of the water-resistant board grades. For customers transporting seasonal tyres, an added value of this product is that its design allows re-usable storage.
