Ceva to Run Pirelli Distribution Centre
Ceva Logistics has opened a distribution centre in Westland, Missouri which it will run for Pirelli Tire North America. The centre will handle tyres for two of Pirelli’s US-based OE customers, General Motors and Ford Motor Company, providing dedicated transportation and warehousing services for the tire manufacturer.
“We estimate to move one million tyres through the facility in 2009,” said John Godfrey, Pirelli Tire North America’s Director of Logistics. “The type of tyres will range from our most popular high performance tyre, the P6 Four Seasons and the Euforia Run Flat ultra high performance (UHP) tyre, to our brand-new UHP Power Line, the P Zero Nero AS (which is OE on the new Mustang GT and 2010 Camaro), as well as the Scorpion STR and our UHP line for light trucks, the Scorpion Zero. We are very pleased to have chosen CEVA Logistics for our OE Business in the Detroit area.”
“We are honored to work with one of our key Global Tire Accounts in the US, operating the primary North American OE Tire Distribution Center for Pirelli in the Detroit area,” said Keith Goldsmith, Senior Vice-President of Business Development and Marketing for the Americas.
