Bridgestone’s Emkes Appointed to Banking Group BOD

On November 19, Tennessee, US based banking group First Horizon National Corporation named Bridgestone Americas Holding chairman and CEO Mark Emkes as one of the group’s two new board members. This appointment took effect immediately. Mr. Emkes has also been appointed to serve on the Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee of the Company’s Board of Directors.

“We are very pleased to have Mark Emkes join the board,” said First Horizon National chairman Mike Rose. “He leads the Americas operations of one of the world’s most recognised companies and is a respected leader in Middle Tennessee where those operations are headquartered. Mark will strengthen board representation throughout the state as we refocus on our regional banking efforts in Tennessee. The board is grateful for the outstanding leadership and service Bob and Mary have provided and wish them well as they move forward.”

Emkes has been CEO of Bridgestone Americas and a director of Bridgestone Corporation since 2004. He began his career at with Firestone Tire & Rubber in 1976 as an international trainee. He also serves on the board of Delaware, Ohio based Greif Industrial Packaging Systems.
