Alliance Tire Reduces Workforce as Orders Decline
According to sources reporting to Israel based business daily Globes, Alliance Tire Company has laid of dozens of temporary employees and intends to lay off “a considerable number of veteran employees”. This action is being taken, reports Globes, following a sharp fall in orders.
Joseph Anglister, president of Alliance, claims the current financial crisis has hit the company after a period of impressive growth. “If you had contacted me a month ago, I would have told you that we are a prosperous company and that I was very optimistic,” Anglister told Globes. He said the crisis has brought a sharp reduction in orders for the company’s products, mainly from Europe. “We need to reduce work lines and reduce our number of workers in order to adapt ourselves to the international situation,” he explained.
