Ukrainians Advised – Stint on Tyres to Save Economy
Despite the country’s tendency towards cold weather, motorists in the Ukraine have been advised by a Russian politician that one way of averting financial catastrophe is to not replace worn winter tyres. Irina Khakamada, quoted by the Unian news agency, gave this advice when talking about measures citizens can take to the country’s current economic crisis, measures that also include not buying currency or transferring money into cash.
“If you have winter tyres on your car, and, theoretically, you need to replace it, but, actually, it’s still good. If you do not replace it, it will be no catastrophe for your life,” said Ms Khakamada. “If you may not replace it, don’t.” The politician compared the purchase of new winter tyres to a man who had promised his wife a fur coat for her birthday, urging drivers to “just wait.”
