Stapleton’s Boosts Stock Capacity in New Premises
Twelve months on from the relocation of two of its main warehouse facilities, giant wholesaler, Stapleton’s has announced an increase in its stockholding capacity, as the company moves into newly opened premises next to its head office facilities in Letchworth. Stapleton’s says that the move has been inspired by the company’s ability to offer better levels of service in its new building through the ability to hold an extra 130,000 tyres, bringing the company’s total network capacity to around 700,000 units. The company says that customers are benefiting from increased service levels and improved stock availability.
The move by one the UK’s largest distributors follows relocations of two of its warehouse facilities in Bristol and Warrington to larger premises.
Steve Parker, Stapleton’s trading director, says: “The new warehouse at Letchworth is fantastic news for our customers as it has further increased our stock holding capacity and therefore our availability.
“Customers can continue to enjoy our twice-a-day, same-day or next-day nationwide delivery service, depending on location, and the same great customer service and product choice along with our commitment to being a reliable and efficient supplier.”
The new Letchworth warehouse will utilise the updated technology and picking systems installed during last year’s warehouse moves, which have led to improved efficiency and delivery. In addition, customers using ProfitLink, Stapleton’s online ordering site, can continue to view live stock levels and availability prior to placing an order.
Customer approval
Steve Parker, Stapleton’s trading director says: “Feedback from customers has been extremely positive, thanks to the warehouse moves and the improvements we made at the beginning of the year to our delivery fleet.
“The increased stock levels and larger delivery fleet means we can continue to deliver a fast, efficient and reliable delivery service with greater flexibility in terms of delivery options.”
Overall the company runs a fleet of vehicles offering nationwide deliveries on a twice-a-day, same-day or next-day delivery basis, depending on location, and has increased the number of delivery routes across the country to further enhance its same-day and next day delivery options.
Steve continues: “During the warehouse moves, we also implemented new technology and picking systems further improving efficiency and delivery turnaround for customers.”
Stapleton’s stocks a full range of tyres to cater for all budgets and vehicle types including premium products as well as exclusive and private brands.
Its total of six distribution centres, based in Wakefield, Coatbridge, Avonmouth, Burton, Warrington and now Letchworth, combined with the new warehouse facility at Biggleswade, Stapleton’s stocks over 600,000 tyres. Orders can be placed over the phone or via ProfitLink, the company’s online ordering service.
