ShengdaTech Supplying NPCC to “Top 10” Chinese Manufacturer

Shandong Province, China based nano precipitated calcium carbonate (NPCC) manufacturer ShengdaTech announced on October 3 that a Chinese tyre manufacturer has issued purchase order requesting ShengdaTech supply its ongoing tyre production requirements. This order was made, says ShengdaTech, after the company successfully completed product testing of its NPCC in a major tyre manufacturer’s production process. The name of the tyre company involved in the testing or the company that has issued the purchase order has not been disclosed.

What ShengdaTech will say, however, is that the new customer is based in Shandong Province and is one of China’s top ten tyre manufacturers, holding a domestic market share of approximately seven per cent.

ShengdaTech reports it is the largest supplier of NPCC to China’s tyre industry, and claims its product improves overall tyre performance by approximately 10 to 20 per cent, namely through increased traction wave resistance, tear resistance, brake elongation, tensile strength and aging resistance. Furthermore, ShengdaTech states the use of NPCC reduces overall tyre manufacturing costs by about three per cent.

“With the addition of this new customer, we are now supplying our NPCC product to three of China’s top ten tyre manufacturers,” commented Mr. Xiangzhi Chen, president and CEO of ShengdaTech. “As is the case with all our customers, we will expand our relationship with this customer as new applications and processes are developed jointly. Developing products in conjunction with existing and potential customers builds long-term relationships, proven to be a key to our continuing success with NPCC.”
