Marangoni Group Upgrading its Ellerbrock Facility Following Fire
Marangoni reports that the compound department at the Group’s Ellerbrock GmbH operation near Hamburg, Germany will be rebuilt using advanced technology following the extensive damage incurred during last Easter’s fire. In a press release, the Italian based retreader states that following an initial analysis performed by the management of Ellerbrock and Marangoni Holding, it “became clear that the use of modern equipment and the most recent mixing technology will allow an even better response to the increasing demand for high performance compounds for retreading.”
To date the Marangoni Group has managed a feat of logistics it describes as being “incredible”, exploiting the potential of the other Group companies and postponing until next year many important product developments. By doing so it has made up for the lack of compounds produced at the Hamburg and – more importantly — guaranteed the regular supply of precured strips and rings to its customers.
Today the rebuilding of the facilities is fully underway, and by spring 2009 the Marangoni Group’s German subsidiary will again be able to manufacture compounds on-site using a new Banbury system, specifically designed according to the latest technology in compound preparation. “The new compound system will be an important step forwards”, commented Matthias Leppert, managing director of Ellerbrock “as it will allow us to make innovative compounds for tyre retreading.”
