Kim Wilde Backs Waste Tyre Playground Campaign
Kim Wilde is backing Dunweedin’s nationwide playground regeneration project. The company is donating 100 tonnes of its eco-friendly playground chippings, made from 100 per cent recycled tyres, to help create vibrant play areas that are safe for youngsters.
Kim Wilde suggested there was an economical benefit for families wishing to save money in the tough financial climate: “With the credit crunch leaving people watching the pennies, most families will be looking to avoid luxuries such as expensive days out with their kids. By helping resurrect the nation’s playgrounds Dunweedin’ is giving families the chance to enjoy time with their children that is safe, environmentally friendly, and doesn’t cost the earth.”
The tyre chippings are approved by the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), and reportedly last ten times longer than bark chippings.
