First Stop Dealership Reaches Milestone

Shaw Tyres, part of Bridgestone’s First Stop network of tyre dealerships, is celebrating its 25th year in business this month. Set up in September 1983 by Maurice Leach, the family business based in Shaw, Oldham has gone from strength to strength over the past 25 years and was one of the original dealerships to become part of the First Stop network over 12 years ago. Maurice Leach welcomed his son, Steve, into the firm in 1986 and together they have built a successful business which specialises in tyres and exhausts and employs four longstanding employees, all of whom have been working for the company for 15 years or more.

When Maurice Leach retired last year, Steve took the reins and is continuing to grow the business which has recently expanded the range of services it has on offer to include brakes. Steve Leach, managing director at Shaw Tyres, comments on the company’s milestone:

“My father set up Shaw Tyres 25 years ago as he saw an opportunity to provide the town of Shaw with a service in which they were lacking and 25 years later the business is still going strong. Having the support of the First Stop network has been key to helping us grow, as a small business we have the backing of a big company, combined with a good product.”

To celebrate their 25th year, Shaw Tyres is offering customers the chance to win £250 of vouchers in a special prize draw, when they buy two Firestone or Bridgestone tyres in October or November.
