Tyresure Reduces TPMS Price
Tyresure has reduced the price of its “money saving tyre pressure monitoring systems,” which are designed to improve safety and reduce fuel use. The recommended retail price of the unit is now £179.99. According to the company, sales have soared since the product’s UK launch earlier this year. A company statement announcing the price decrease explained that “thousands of motorists are now driving with correctly inflated tyres” as a result of using the system.
Tyresure M.D Ian Smith explained the rationale behind the new pricing structure: “We’ve been delighted with the initial take-up of Tyresure here in the UK,” he said. “The response from consumers has been so positive that we’ve been able to increase production at the factory and reduce the unit cost. It seems only fair to share this with the motoring public. They need a break at the moment.’
Tyresure uses a powerful battery in each tyre to power accurate sensors that constantly relay temperature and pressure information to the driver on an easy-to-read colour screen. With leading tyre company research showing that just a 6 psi drop in tyre pressure leads to an approximate 10 per cent increase in fuel consumption and rapidly accelerating tyre wear by up to 30 per cent, the pitch claims that most drivers will see a financial return in the first year of average driving.
