Rema Tip Top Offers Mounting Solutions for Run-Flats
Rema Tip Top offers a range of workshop equipment for run-flat tyres that covers every need, from entry-level products to high-end solutions.
The Butler Topline tyre changer is a superb introductory machine, says Rema Tip Top, and represents an intelligent evolution of the award winning Airdraulic and Aircombi tyre changers. One of the new standard features on the Butler Topline is the Safety Belt, which was developed to reduce mounting stress particularly whilst fitting low profile, UHP and self supporting tyres, thus preventing damage to any part of the tyre or rim.
The Safety Belt pulls the bead into the drop centre of the rim, removing all the “mounting stress” from the traction point (the contact point between the rim and tyre during mounting). It performs the “matching” or “indexing” without roller sidewall contact. It is suitable for mounting tyres on EH2, EH2+, SEH2 and “high balcony” rims as well as rims with irregular drop centre shapes. Furthermore, the Safety Belt can be retrofitted to all Classic Plus, Airdraulic, AirCombi and all their different versions and trade names.
A number of optional extras can be added during the order process, including the RimSled and Air Pressure Multiplier. The RimSled is essentially a protective sleeve that covers the mounting head, which is especially useful when handling top of the range rims. The Air Pressure Multiplier has been designed to multiply the air pressure for the tyre changer to the required level. This system is inherently useful in either a workshop environment or on the open road. The device multiplies the incoming (or available) pressure by two. However the entire system is still limited to a maximum pressure of 10 BAR or 145 PSI in order to avoid long-term any damage to the machine’s vital components.
In terms of automated operation, Rema Tip Top says the new Kendo model provides a taste of run-flat mounting technology of the future. Launched at the Automechanika show, the Kendo represents the middle entry model within this micro range of elite tyre changers. The Kendo of course doesn’t feature quite so many bells and whistles as the high-end Aikido, but as it is ultimately powered by Aikido mounting technology, the Kendo packs a familiar punch, says Rema Tip Top.
The Aikido is considered as a high-end professional model. A key feature of this tyre-changing machine is its patented mounting head, which negates the use of tyre levers when mounting or demounting the tyre from the bead. The machine is suitable for tyre diameters up to 30-inch and can universally be used for all wheel-tyre combinations.
