Bosal Introduces New UK Range of Bus Exhaust Systems
Bosal UK, part of Belgium headquartered exhaust systems and catalytic converter designer and manufacturer Bosal International, is strengthening its UK presence in the bus and coach exhaust systems market.
The company has appointed a new UK business development manager for its Truck, Bus & Industrial applications division. Peter Winward brings to Bosal UK a strong background in engineering and several years with another exhaust system manufacturer. Bosal has also published a catalogue covering its initial product range for buses and coaches, and the company says it will make its first appearance as an exhibitor at the 2008 Euro Bus Expo at the NEC, Birmingham in November.
Available on request from the Preston based company, the catalogue lists complete systems and components covering 15 marques and well over 100 models. Applications are included from makers such as Volvo, Scania, Mercedes-Benz, Leyland, Ford, MAN and MCW. There is even, notes Bosal, a system listed for the venerable AEC Routemaster. The range also includes bends and elbows of varying diameters, clamps, spark arresters and raincaps.
Commenting on the move into the bus and coach market, Peter Winward, says “the UK bus market has been booming over the past few years, with considerable growth in vehicle numbers. With buses and coaches often having a useful service life of 20 or 25 years, they need to have the exhaust system replaced or repaired several times.
“Properly designed, fitted and functioning exhaust systems are vital in order to satisfy growing legislative and public pressure for cleaner emissions from these vehicles,” Winward adds. “They can also have a major impact on vehicle performance and fuel efficiency. As a major global designer and supplier of both OE and replacement exhausts, we understand the importance of correct design, fit and function. The Bosal brand enjoys a strong reputation for quality, durability, ease of fit, and efficiency in service.”
