Bike Tyrestore Not Just Tyres for Bikes

Bike Tyrestore, as the company name more than suggests, predominately participates in the motorcycle tyre sector, supplying dealers and customers with quality products for two-wheeled machines. However vehicles with four wheels are not entirely spurned by the Birmingham based company – Bike Tyrestore also keeps quad bike users on (or off) the road with a healthy range of ATV tyres.

Since the start of 2007 the company has acted as sole UK trade distributor for the Sava range of ATV tyres, a brand the company had represented in the motorcycle sector since the previous year. At present Bike Tyrestore operates as a direct distributor to the trade for this popular brand. “This has been working quite well, and the brand is selling well,” comments Bike Tyrestore customer service advisor David Nolan. Due to the brand’s newness to the market Bike Tyrestore couldn’t comment on exact sales figures for the ATV range, however company joint managing director Peter Smith did comment that he holds “high hopes for the future” for the Sava product.

While Sava is Bike Tyrestore’s main ATV brand, the company also sells wares manufactured by other firms, including Dunlop and Kenda. The bulk of sales for these other brands are, says Mr. Nolan, for agricultural quad bikes. Some of these, he explains, come fitted with a specific manufacturer’s tyres – Goodyear and Dunlop were two given examples – as original equipment, and when the time comes to replace the tyres the vehicle can only accept this particular sort of tyre, due to the use of an irregular and quite unique size fitment. Thus it is important that customers operating these bikes are also amply catered for.

The majority of Bike Tyrestore’s trade customers are motorcycle dealers that also purchase motorcycle tyres from Bike Tyrestore, Nolan adds. Most fitments are for road quads and farm ATVs. And in this segment the company focuses exclusively on tyres. As David Nolan says: “This is what we do best, if it is not broken, then don’t fix it.” He added that Bike Tyrestore has recently won an industry award for service, confirmation that the company’s decision to make areas of particular strength its emphasis is the right direction to take.
