PDP’s Diagnostic Evenings Prove Popular
PDP Diagnostic evenings (Premier Distribution Partnership) have welcomed over 2,000 UK garage customers at introductory evenings to launch a unique Diagnostic Support Programme.
With the help of ADS’ Frank Massey and other leading aftermarket experts, PDP have put together a unique and comprehensive programme unavailable elsewhere in the aftermarket, with the clear goal of educating their UK garage customers in the latest diagnostic and repair techniques.
Tony Parr, Managing Director of PDP member BMS Superfactors and Chairman of PDP, explains, “Our introductory evenings were a perfect way of launching the programme in January of this year. Our customers around the country were able to hear Frank and have the opportunity to book themselves onto the first of a series of two day, face to face foundation courses, to be held throughout 2008.”
Parr continues, “The course Frank and his team present is a very practical and interactive workshop, it’s tailored to the attendees’ needs and gives them the skills and confidence to provide their customers with a diagnostic service for today’s increasingly complex vehicle systems. Each course has a limited number of places available to allow Frank to provide each attendee with the personal attention and supervision they require. This is further enhanced by Frank taking into account the equipment that the individual attendees may be using in their everyday work environment and tailoring the training accordingly.
“The course is based around understanding the limitation of the test equipment, interpreting the data and demonstrating sound diagnostic techniques and principles to reach an accurate and confident repair conclusion.”
These foundation courses will cover the essential skills and advice required in getting started or developing an existing diagnostic service. At each location, experts will be on hand with help and support in choosing the correct diagnostic platform and offering advice on a whole range of technology parts, procedures and techniques to help ensure profit and success.
Successful weekend courses have already been held at Preston, Glasgow, Tiverton and Nottingham this year and subsequent courses are being held around the country throughout 2008. Successful attendance on these courses will count towards the candidate’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for the Institute of the Motor Industry.
Tony Parr added, “We are committed to the Diagnostic Support Programme and the benefits it can yield. This is just the beginning, with a number of additional training modules in the pipeline, which will address specific technical issues being faced by our independent garage customers.”
