Nexen “Providing Safety, Stable Driving All Around Europe”
Nexen Tyre, a company at the forefront of the Korean winter tyre market, believes that it has the overseas reputation not only for the company’s popular non-winter tyres, but also for its winter tyres.
The Korean company is attempting to penetrate Europe’s winter tyre market with its Euro-Win, Winguard, Winguard-SUV and Winguard 231 lines. The firm is also announcing for this season its brand new ultra-high performance winter tyre called the Winguard Sport, which, the company claims, “is ready to be the first runner of the premium UHP winter tyre both in the domestic and overseas tyre markets.”
The Wingurad Sport is a brand new UHP tyre especially designed for European sports vehicles. Employing an asymmetrical tread design with a four wide channel design, the tyre adopts a new silica compound for the combination of powerful grip and lower road noise. The Winguard Sport is designed to improve high-speed performance in any winter driving. Moreover, the tyre was prominently showcased by Nexen at the Reifen 2008 in Essen, Germany, gaining favourable public exposure to visitors from all around the world.
Meanwhile, the Euro-Win is designed “to bring the satisfaction of good performances to European drivers not only in dry weather but also on snowy and icy roads.” Its new technology of a high-grip silica compound secures excellent snow driving performance even at low temperatures – a must for European winter driving. The specially designed dust-proof compound, which attempts to maximize power absorption from exterior impact, has the company confident that drivers will notice a remarkable improvement in stability.
The Winguard is the Nexen’s original winter-functional tyre. A directional arrow-centre rib design provides heightened straight-running stability on icy, snowy and rainy roads. Nexen applied its own brand of de-noise technology, also known by the firm as “Silence System”, to the Winguard with specially designed multi-sipe patterns to reduce the noise level while driving.
The Winguard-SUV is the company’s pattern exclusively made for SUVs and RVs. Winguard-SUV features higher-quality driving stability and braking force, specially formulated for snowy, mountainous areas. Several sipes, densely packed on the surface, provide increased traction power. The directional tread pattern supports better driving performance for high-class SUVs. The independent pitch layout system, designed with the aid of computer simulations, minimizes possible noise while driving.
Finally, the Winguard-231 is designed as the typical European winter tyre. The reinforced tread block with multiple sipes leads to higher traction power in snowy and icy winter conditions. The centre rib on the tread supports driving stability even in the extremities of winter weather, while the v-shaped pattern of the tyre enhances drain ability and driving power on rain-drenched roads.
