Motorcycle Tyre Manufacturers Launch New Round of Price Increases
Leading UK motorcycle tyre wholesaler, Bike Tyrestore reports that continuing volatility in two-wheel tyre prices have prompted manufacturers to announce another round of increases, due to spiralling raw material and fuel costs.
The UK two-wheel market leader, Bridgestone, is raising motorcycle and scooter product prices by an average of 6 per cent on September 1, and on the same date Pirelli/Metzeler increase radial tyre prices by 5 per cent, 7 per cent for conventional lines and 3 per cent on scooter. Dunlop follow on September 15 with a 6 per cent hike and Avon are thought to be adding 5 per cent to their two-wheel tyre prices on October 1.
This is unlikely to be the end of the story in 2008, Bike Tyrestore adds, and customers are said to be finding that the “YOUR Online Warehouse” accessed through the wholesaler’s website is the only way to keep abreast of manufacturer’s cost prices. The online warehouse offers the additional benefit that customers can check stock availability and send orders online. Access is via www.worldofbiketyres.com and there is no charge for the service to BTS account holders. Online warehouse access can be set up by contacting the Bike Tyrestore customer service team on freephone 0800 281 413.
Making further use of the internet, Bike Tyrestore operates a Customer Loyalty Rewards programme, aptly named “Moto-Vate”. Visit the website at www.moto-vate.com or read about the programme at the company’s main site.
