Full Maxxis Truck Tyre Range Now in UK

Following the launch of its 22.5 inch truck tyres at the 2005 Brityrex exhibition, Maxxis has expanded its range over the past few years – most recently introducing a super single to the market – and the brand is continuing to prove worth its salt via long-term mileage tests with leading UK fleets.

“The full range of Maxxis truck tyres is now available in the UK and sales have increased steadily on the back of the excellent results we’ve been getting from our customer test programme,” says Maxxis UK International managing director Derek McMartin. “The figures reflect those achieved in tests carried out elsewhere in Europe, and put Maxxis right up there with the top brands in the sector when it comes to quality, reliability and value for money, so we’re delighted to expand our offering by incorporating a full truck range of steer, drive and trailer tyres.”

The size range available in the Maxxis truck tyre line-up has grown of late, with the addition of the new UR288, a 385/65R22.5 super single. Other available sizes are 10R22.5, 11R22.5, 12R22.5, 275/80R22.5, 295/80R22.5, 315/80R22.5. Meanwhile, sales of Maxxis 17.5 inch and19.5 inch van and light truck tyres are continuing to increase. These products, comments Maxxis, are renowned for durability and superb handling in all conditions thanks to their double high tensile strength steel belt construction. They also feature continuous shoulder ribs for long life and uniformity, a premium rubber compound and extra plies for improved puncture and abrasion resistance.

The UR-275, ideally suited to medium size trucks, is available in sizes 215/75R 17.5PR to 245/70R 19.5 and reportedly offers superb manoeuvrability and handling stability thanks to its low rolling resistance and extra-strong puncture-resistant casing, while the UE-168 commercial highway tyre benefits from a 70-80 profile and jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap for added strength and stability for truck operators who need year-round reliability.

For light commercial vehicles the UE-103 is a practical solution for everyday use; its rugged tread compound formulation resists abrasion and rib tread design ensures stability – especially on motorways – while enhancing water dispersal.

Available in 13-16-inch sizes, Maxxis reports the MA-751 Bravo is a firm favourite amongst sports truck/pick-up/4×4 operators because of its responsive handling and optimum traction on all terrains, while the MA-703 is said to combine responsiveness with durability to deliver superb traction in wet and dry conditions, along with smooth handling at high speeds.
