BCT Addition Makes VDB Total Private Brand Supplier

Van Den Ban’s (VDB) wide assortment of private brands serves a wide range of tyre market segments. And now that the company stocks the Chinese-produced Beijing Capital Tire (BCT) brand, VDB claims to hold all sizes and varieties in stock from budget tyres to high performance to SUV/4×4 tyres. “Last year we added BCT to our assortment and since then we can say we can supply all segments of the market, not only with premium brands, but also with our private labels”, says Cyril Versteeg, Commercial Manager with Van den Ban.

BCT sits at the budget end of VDB’s product portfolio and comes in a range of passenger car, (ultra) high performance, high performance, asymmetric and some light truck sizes. The S600 PCR range comprises 34 sizes from 13 to 16 inches in diameter, while UHP S800 and HP asymmetric S900 contain a total of 26 sizes and ranging from 14 to 19 inches.

Company representatives told Tyres & Accessories that VDB’s business is “growing rapidly” in the UK and that with its complete assortment of products, BCT is considered to be a good alternative. Nevertheless VDB also has other private labels in stock which are serving other segments in the market.

VDB’s private label Blackstone is manufactured in Europe by Continental and has a balanced price/quality ratio. With Blackstone’s CD range, which stands for Comfort and Durability, Blackstone has a complete range of PCR tyres, varying in three patterns from 13 to 18 inches. Recently CD Van, Blackstone’s assortment of light truck tyres, were added to the programme. Blackstone Alaska is the winter tyre component of the range and completes the programme. These tyres carry both the M&S symbol and the three peak mountain symbol.

Novex is placed between BCT and Blackstone. Novex is also said to have a very good price/quality ratio and is manufactured by Maxxis. Novex has an extensive assortment consisting of 116 sizes in total. Apart from PCR tyres, light truck tyres also form part of this line. In addition 4×4/SUV tyres are also well represented in Novex’ assortment.

To complete the programme, last year VDB added a line of winter tyres – Novex Snow Speed. This line of winter tyres can be features an extensive 56 sizes. In addition to the PCR winter tyres sizes included in this line-up (ranging from 13 up to 17 inches), the Snow Speed range also contains a number of Light Truck sizes.
