TVS Srichakra Looks Towards European OEMs

TVS Srichakra Limited, the largest Motorcycle tyre manufacturer in India, spent its time in Essen promoting the new expansion to its range of OTR crossply tyres. Having achieved the milestone of manufacturing 11.5 million tyres for the Motorcycle and Scooter segments, the company is working towards enhancing their brand TVS Eurogrip. Additionally the company’s display of products on Flotation, OTR and MPT showed off its New Product Development programme to a large extent.

TVS Shrichakra looks to have set its sights on exports and working towards manufacturing specialty OTR tyres. According to K. K. Raman, General Manager Exports, the company’s quality initiatives include both the attainment ISO 9001-2000 accreditation and “leaner manufacturing techniques.” The company is also accredited with TS 16949 and has won the prestigious TPM Gold Medal Excellency award in 2003 and TPM consistency award in 2006.

Raman also stated that having attained “the lion’s share” of the sector’s OEMs in India, the company is now moving towards supplying OEMs in Europe. In the meantime, TVS Srichakra is busily expanding production capacity at its existing plants.
