Goodyear Dunlop Names New Market Supply Chain Director
Goodyear Dunlop has promoted Market Planning Manager, Steve Carless, to Market Supply Chain Director – UK and Ireland. Market Supply Chain Director is a new role that has reportedly been created to improve effectiveness, reduce costs and give superior customer satisfaction. The new role’s main responsibilities will include order management, forecasting, warehousing and the Sales and Operating Plan process.
Steve Carless started with the company as an Undergraduate Trainee in Marketing in 1993. After graduating in Mathematical Business Analysis from Wolverhampton University, a year later, he rejoined the company. Carless began his career after graduation as a Market Analyst, moving into Sales for the Truck Tyre department as well as experiencing roles in the company’s Luxembourg offices covering Marketing and Sales Forecasting.
As Market Supply Chain Director he will continue to be a member of the UK and Ireland Lead Team and will also join the EMEA Supply Chain Lead Team reporting to Mark Brickhill, UK General Manager and Rob Scholte, Vice President Supply Chain EMEA.
“Steve was a perfect candidate for the role; he has shown commitment and dedication to Goodyear Dunlop throughout his 13 years continuous service. He has a fantastic profile having worked in our office in Luxembourg for nearly four years. Steve’s new role will help us to forecast correctly enabling excellent availability and customer service.” said Mark Brickhill.
“Our Logistics department has experienced continuous improvement over the last 3 years to ensure that we are able to deliver a high standard of service and provide the right products at the right time. Steve’s new position will align the UK and Ireland with our European offices and distribution centres effectively.” he concluded.
