Elgitread Splits Its Divisions to form Treadsdirect

Elgitread, who exhibited their tread rubber manufacturing division in Hall 3, Booth 122 at Reifen 2008, have relisted Treadsdirect as a separate company on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).

The new company is categorised as An ELGI Associate, and will concentrate its energies on manufacturing tread rubber, bonding gum retreading and bus operations, while Elgitread – retaining the company name – will give more attention to retreading accessories, retreading machinery and manufacturing with reclaimed rubber. Treadsdirect is now the proprietor of 14 operational retreading units and possesses three manufacturing units.

In terms of its showing at Reifen, Mr. Srinivasan, head of international marketing, said, “The Reifen show for us was very good. The display of our tread rubber and the consumables was found to be interesting for the visitors who had come from various countries. The customers were quite happy with the range of our products and found them to be economical and some of them have finalised the deal with us. On the whole we are quite happy with the outcome of the show.”
