Continental Promotes Two Key Sales Executives
Continental has promoted Phil Scanlan and Tom Whittaker into new roles as European sales director and sales manager – Car Fleets respectively.
Phil Scanlan has moved into the European sales director role responsible for Kwik Fit account after a number of years as fleet sales manager. His key role is managing the Kwik Fit account for Continental across Europe. In the coming months he will be working with Kwik Fit to maximise the new opportunities in supply chain through their new national distribution centre. The European sales director role is based in the UK and reports into the Hanover-based new distribution business unit.
Scanlan has been with Continental for 22 years in various sales and distribution roles. A former Olympic shooting team member and Commonwealth Games medallist, in his spare time Phil is part of a training programme coaching the Olympic shooting team for Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
Previously sales development manager, Tom Whittaker has taken the sales manager – Car Fleets position. Whittaker has over 8 years at Continental and 22 years experience in the tyre industry. Reporting into UK passenger replacement sales team lead by sales director Angus Smith, Whittaker will be developing and implementing Continental’s car fleet strategy.
Angus Smith said: “It has been a pleasure working with Phil for 20 years. He has achieved a huge amount in his time in various roles with the company and I wish him every success in his new position. Tom moves into the role with a passion for both tyres and customer service. I’m sure our car fleet business will go from strength to strength under his guidance.”
