BFNAT Plant Gets Environment Award

Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire’s Warren County, Tenn., medium truck tire plant recently received the 2008 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for accomplishments in pollution prevention.

BFNAT said it installed new pollution-reducing technologies at the plant, added hydrogen-fuel vehicles, reduced mercury lighting in the plant, and cut back on water use. (Tire Review/Akron)
