Michelin Wins Collease Contract Following Trial
An extensive in-house trial conducted by Collease Truck and Trailer Rentals has led to Michelin winning a contract from the Norwich-based firm.
The trials, which compared the performance of Michelin’s truck tyres against a number of other manufacturers’ products, have resulted in Collease fitting Michelin-branded tyres across a 3,350-strong fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers, ranging from vans to 44 tonne tractor units and trailers.
Fleet Tyre Manager Ray Knapp explains that “each vehicle in our fleet covers around 100,000 miles a year, so tyre wear is a major factor to consider”.
Knapp cites Michelin’s “first class reputation” as an important factor behind the decision, suggesting that “the additional performance which you can get from operating a premium product will in turn deliver reduced whole-life costs and further improve fleet up-time.”
Possessing over 30 years’ trade experience and nine sites nationwide, Collease’s decision to award Michelin the contract represents a significant victory, with the move affecting all further tyre purchases across the fleet.
