Mobile Tyre Changer From Hofmann Megaplan
Hofmann Megaplan has recently introduced what the company claims to be the most capable tyre changer ever designed to be used in a mobile fitting van.
The megamount 401 XL Racing works on the space-saving ‘swing-arm’ principle that has proved so popular over the years in mobile fitting vans, but that has also presented limitations in terms of the range of wheels they can handle. The 401 overcomes these limitations by utilising the ‘Quadraclamp’ turntable system from the 701 model that allows clamping up to 26″, and the ‘megafit’ arm for handling stiff, low profile and run-flat tyres.
However, the biggest development is the introduction of a new 12 volt motor that delivers 30 per cent more torque than previous and existing 12v machines.
“The megamount 401XL has been fitted with a new motor that guarantees the same level of torque and performance as a 3 phase machine in a workshop,” commented Hofmann Megaplan MD James Boon, adding: “And this represents a huge step forward for anybody operating a mobile fitting service.”
The megamount 401XL is already being used by leading industry names such as Micheldever/Pro-Tyre and Event Mobile Tyres, and is set to create a new standard for mobile fitting operators in the future.
Hofmann Megaplan is also keen to point out that this model is unique and incorporates several patents. The company says that potential customers should beware of equipment suppliers trying to ‘pass themselves off’ as having a similar or same machine.
