Eliokem Increases Chemigum Nitrile Polymer Prices
At the end of May Eliokem increased its prices for products made in its Valia (India) plant by up to 13 per cent. The Valia plant specializes in emulsion polymerization of polymers and latices for both the rubber and latex industries. The products are marketed under trademarks such as Chemigum NBR Polymers in Latex, Powder and Bale forms; and Pliolite HSR High Styrene Butadiene Rubber Masterbatches.
“With the strong polymer demand globally and crude oil record highs, all major monomers and notably Butadiene used in rubber manufacturing are continuing to increase further, as are the costs of energy, chemicals, transportation and labour. Therefore, further price adjustments in June and in the third quarter cannot be ruled out”, said Jacques Collonge, CEO Eliokem.
Eliokem is a specialty chemical group with headquarters in Villejust (near Paris) France. The group employs more than 680 people around the world and owns four production facilities located at Le Havre (France), Akron (Ohio, USA), Ningbo (China) and Valia (Gujarat, India) as well as six representative offices in Europe, Asia and The Americas, and a network of 85 distributors and agents strategically located around the world. Chemigum nitrile rubber and polyblends are used in auto parts and industrial rubber goods.
