Yokohama to Set Up Factory In India
Yokohama is reported to be planning a new tyre manufacturing facility in India. According to the Indo-Asian News Service, the plant in the northern state of Haryana will be built with an investment totalling more than Rs 9 billion (£112.9 million). Details of the project were announced by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation on April 1, including news that it has allotted Yokohama a 25-acre section of land in an industrial estate in the National Capital Region of Delhi.
The plant will be built with 100 per cent foreign direct investment, said a spokesman from the HSIIDC, and it will directly provide the region with 900 jobs.
