Second HiQ Motorsport Forum in Peterborough Today
HiQ says it is hosting an evening of Motorsport “thrills and spills” at its Whittlesey Road, Peterborough, store from 6.30pm to 8.30pm today. The idea is for the retail chain to give motoring enthusiasts a taste of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championships, which the company is officially sponsoring for the first time. The high octane entertainment will feature appearances from leading touring car team Seat and driver Darren Turner, who will give onlookers an insight into the world of competitive motor sport. Tonight’s event is the second motorsport forum to ever take place, following what the company called an “extremely successful event in Grays last week, which was attended by more than 100 people.”
A question and answer forum will take place with SEAT from 7pm to 8pm and an autograph signing session will also be held, to celebrate the latest round of the BTCC, which takes place at nearby Rockingham, Europe’s fastest race track. 10 free pairs of tickets will be up for grabs as well, to celebrate HiQ’s sponsorship of the championships.
HiQ’s BTCC spokesman Neil Burrows said: “We want to bring a real carnival atmosphere to Peterborough and we want as many people as possible to soak up the atmosphere. Our HiQ centre will have a real carnival atmosphere, featuring some electric sights and sounds, which we hope onlookers will lap up.”
Burrows added: “HiQ has begun an ambitious programme, not only to simply change the look of its centres, but make a fundamental change to the way fast fit is delivered in the UK. Partnering with the country’s biggest motor sport championship will help us communicate with our target audience and promote the scale of the investment in the HiQ network.”
HiQ is a partner organisation to Dunlop, which has backed the BTCC since 2005 as title sponsor. Dunlop will continue as official tyre supplier to the BTCC.
