Maywood Appointed Exclusive Cascos Distributor
The Maywood Equipment Group, sole UK distributor of the Hofmann, Omer and Finkbeiner brand lifting equipment, has announced its appointment as sole distributor throughout the UK of the Cascos brand of lifting products, beginning in April 2008. Although new to Maywood, Cascos, headquartered in Spain, has been producing lifting equipment for more than four decades, and today sells its products around the world. Maywood reports the company’s philosophy is to build a reliable product with first class materials and a high level of quality control, and deliver this together with first class service. The Kent based distributor adds that spares are also available for every Cascos lift produced throughout the company’s entire history – and at reasonable prices.
Cascos is said to have selected Maywood because, in the words of company managing director Carlos Cascos, “we wanted a partner who would insist on the importance of quality and had their own top level after sales service. Maywood also had a prominent presence in the market already selling other top brands of lifts. We are delighted to have been able to secure this arrangement with Maywood, with whom I see a great future .”
Trevor Homewood, managing director of Maywood added “we have always been looking for another exclusive supplier rather than one who would supply others and have their products re-badged. We will sell Cascos as Cascos, as their name in Europe speaks for itself.”
Cascos manufactures a wide range of lifts, and a number of features distinguish the company’s products from others and make them an attractive proposition when purchasing a lift. The columns of all two post lifts between 2.8 and 5 tonne capacity feature hot rolled profiles in their construction, not folded sheet metal. Maywood adds that every Cascos two post lift offers the maximum interior space possible for working, allowing drivers to open a vehicle’s doors and easily get out. All lifts of course come with CE certification, thus compliance with the highest safety requirements and the meeting of environmental considerations is ensured. All lifts provide feet protection, arm locking safety, a motor fitted with a heat sensor, a microswitch on the chain and long lasting safety nuts.
Four post lifts of 3.2 to 12 tonne capacity again come with a range of safety features such as a platform structure of rolled “doubleT” profiles rather than folded sheet metal, a bolt system for locking the lift at different heights, a microswitch fitted to the end of the cross beam that cuts off electricity should the cables break, and an electric motor provided with thermal protection to prevent the motor from overheating.
A single post lift of 2 tonne capacity is also offered in the Cascos range, and Maywood believes this is a product suitable for any unused corner in a workshop, bodyshop or tyre bay. Again this unit includes numerous safety features. Very few European manufacturers offer this type of lift, adds Maywood, and provided the floor at the customer’s premises is in good condition a single post lift can be the solution for providing extra capacity within a confined space.
Cascos lifts will be supplied by Maywood through all its existing distributors including Unipart Automotive, the IFA and UAN, plus many other garage equipment distributors. Details of the range will be included in Maywood’s new price list catalogue, which is due out in May. To conclude, Trevor Homewood says: “Not since we took on exclusively Hofmann lifts have I felt so enthusiastic about a new range of products. We look forward to many years of successfully selling Cascos lifts in The UK .”
