MA-Z4S Joins Growing Maxxis Performance Range
The recently unveiled Maxxis MA-Z4S is now available in the UK, exclusively supplied by Group Tyre. The unidirectional UHP tyre is sold in sizes from 195/50 R15 to 255/35 ZR20, and brings the Maxxis performance tyre range to a total of 200 sizes with solutions for every application – from, general motoring to the demands of professional motorsport.
Tread design is intended to maximise the all-season characteristics of the MA-Z4S. Its V-shaped tread pattern features four high-void circumferential main grooves for effective water dispersal on wet roads, plus multiple grooves and siping for snow conditions. Underneath the all-season tread is a solid centre rib, reinforced casing and body ply structure designed with improved handling and high-speed stability in mind, while the hard bead filler compound is intended to deliver better cornering.
“The new MA-Z4S Victra is an all-season UHP tyre designed to take grip, handling and fuel economy to a new level,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin. “Since it complements top-selling patterns like the M35, MA-V1 and MA-Z1, the MA-Z4S Victra is an exciting addition to our range and we believe it will help reinforce our credentials and help position Maxxis as the best alternative to the OE brands in this key marketplace.”
The M35 has been on the market for around two years and is a key part of the Maxxis performance tyre portfolio. Featuring an asymmetric tread design with three outside ribs, the Maxxis M35 is sold in an increasing range of popular sizes from 195/50 VR15 upwards. The tyre’s inside shoulder has a high void ratio, which Maxxis reports delivers effective water dispersal, while a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap ensures uniformity and durability and the continuous circumferential tread block provides for uniform wear. The Maxxis M35 also benefits from an additional rim protector.
In its 2007 comparative tests, Auto Express magazine commended the Maxxis MA-Z1 for its wet braking and wet cornering capabilities, as the tyre eclipsed several premium brands to finish runner-up for value for money and in the top four for low noise at speed. The MA-Z1 is available in almost 60 sizes up to 285/30 ZR20 and can deliver stable cornering and handling at speed thanks to an aggressive unidirectional tread design, stiff sidewall and its silica compound. Double-steel belts and a jointless spiral-wrapped full nylon cap provide durability, while an ultra-stiff bead filler and solid central rib enhance the tyre’s handling capabilities.
Thanks to a directional tread pattern, which aids cornering and overall handling, and a specially formulated compound that the manufacturer claims delivers outstanding traction, the Maxxis MA-V1 has, says Maxxis, established itself as the preferred choice of high performance drivers throughout Europe and North America. It is available in 76 sizes from 14-inches upwards.
Last but not least is the Maxxis MA-P1, available in almost 100 size options from 175/70 R12 upwards. The tyre features a tread design with four circumferential grooves for enhanced traction and water dispersal.
