Goodyear Assurance Offers Wet & Dry Grip
Motorists in the Asia Pacific region will benefit from the latest Goodyear offering, scheduled for an April 15 release. Called the Assurance, the mid-size passenger car tyre is intended to offer a superior level of grip in wet or dry conditions. Richard Fleming, managing director of Goodyear Asean and Thailand, said Goodyear produced the Assurance as part of its commitment to produce “greater, safer products that revolve around safety and meet key consumer needs.”
The Assurance features what Goodyear calls ArmorGrip Technology, which permits tyres to have greater grip capabilities and better resistance. DP Singh, regional marketing director for consumer tyres, said the Assurance also uses DuPont Kevlar, a material five times stronger than steel, and has a Durawall compound in its sidewalls for added resistance to cuts and tears, and to curb impact against road hazards. “There’s just too much technology for us to take in,” Singh said.
The tyre was officially launched on March 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malasia.
