GITI Tire’s UHP Range – 80 Sizes and Steadily Growing
A greater presence in this part of the world is planned for GITI Tire, as comments made by GITI Europe marketing manager Peter Foulkes regarding May’s Reifen exhibition testify: “GITI intend to use their presence at the show to officially launch and take forward to the next progressive stage, the company’s growing sales presence in Europe (including the UK and Ireland).” Mr. Foulkes adds that, at the show, GITI plans to show off a number of products not yet seen here, including a new asymmetric ultra high performance tyre – the Champiro HPY.
And while we must await the Essen show for further details on this new product, GITI is already well established as a manufacturer of performance tyres. The company reports it is continuing to expand its position within the UHP sector of the market, and now offers more than 80 sizes, with many further additions in the final stages of development.
The most recently released UHP tyre in the GT Radial range, the Champiro HPX, delivers the latest GITI developments in compounding technology. The HPX features a full silica compound and directional tread pattern design, both factors contributing towards strong cornering and handling ability as well as wet and dry traction – all qualities GITI is confident add up to exhilarating ultra high performance driving.
Beneath the surface of the Champiro HPX is a casing featuring 2-ply HMLS polyester for increased durability and improved comfort. The tyre’s jointless layer construction allows for an even distribution of pressure, resulting in superior handling properties and more even wear. Duel high tensile steel belts allow high levels of lateral torque for better handling characteristics. The cap and base design, combined with a low rolling resistance compound, provides improved wet grip performance.
The HPX range is available in a range of sizes for 16 to 20-inch rim diameters, covering 35 to 60 series aspect ratios.
Two additional patterns complete the current GITI ultra high performance product line up. The Champiro 328, with its directional sports tread pattern is designed to deliver exceptional cornering and stability in both wet and dry conditions. The Champiro 328 is available in 30 sizes for rim diameters between 15 and 20-inches, and 30 to 55 series aspect ratios. The Champiro HPZ, with a range that includes 26 sizes for 15 to 20-inch rim diameters and 35 to 55 series aspect ratios, has enjoyed considerable success and, reports GITI, proved itself to be extremely popular amongst owners of sports and high performance cars.
