CST wins Quality Performance Award

Continental Sime Tyre (CST) received its second straight Outstanding Quality Performance Award from Toyota’s Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd. on 31st March 2008. The award for 2007 was presented at the 13th Toyota Suppliers’ Conference held at the Bluewave Hotel in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

The award was presented for tyres supplied by CST’s Alor Star plant for 3 Toyota models, i.e. Toyota Innova, Hilux Single Cab and Fortuner. The four criteria for selection were:

1) Incoming quality defects – ‘0’ ppm
2) ‘0’ warranty claims
3) 12 months delivery
4) Manufacturer (not v – v parts)

Choong Kee Seng, Sales Director, Continental Sime Tyre Marketing (CSTM), was on hand to receive the award on behalf of CST from Kuah Kock Heng, Managing Director, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn. Bhd. Thomas Falke, Director of OE – ASEAN & China, CSTM commented that they practice the skills and learning from the award for all their customers in the region. “We are never satisfied with our quality and continue to strive for improvement. We will do our utmost best to win the award again next year.” He added.
