Coroner Says Goodyear Worker Death was Accidental
KSNT-TV reported that the Shawnee County (Kan.) Coroner ruled as accidental the death of the Goodyear Topeka tire plant employee who died Mar. 29 after being tasered by police. The worker was tasered three times by local police, who were called by plant security officials after the man exhibited erratic behavior at the plant.
The coroner said the 59-year-old man had a history of cardiac problems and diabetes, and reported that the cause of death was “of cardiac nature, with contribution by compression of the torso” while he was being handcuffed while lying face down. (Tire Review/Akron)
