Sinton Tyres Now Carries More Cooper Tyres Than Ever
Reportedly the largest independent stockist of the Cooper Tire range in the UK, Sinton Tyres representatives recently told Tyres & Accessories that the wholesaler has increased its Cooper offering still further, particularly on the items that are no longer available from Cooper Tire & Rubber Company in Melksham. The move is said to have come as a result of Cooper’s change of strategy in relation to 4×4 tyres.
The result is that Sinton Tyres Limited, reportedly the first authorised key dealer wholesaler to import the Cooper Tire brand back in 1994, now carries a greater breadth of stock than ever before. In fact Cooper Tyres now represent over 95 per cent of the products carried and Ian Bowell, Sinton General Manager, and his team are on hand to give comprehensive advice on options to original equipment specifications wherever required. Delivery is next working day anywhere in mainland UK.
Cooper’s key offering is its popular and extensive Discoverer 4×4 family, which covers most 4×4 applications from the severest off-road conditions through to tyres for today’s range of high performance 4×4 vehicles.
The Discoverer Sport HP is available in 12 H-rated sizes and 2 V-rated sizes, suitable for high performance 4x4s which spend most of their time on the road. The directional tread is designed to resist aquaplaning and provide good water evacuation away from the tread contact patch. The tall sidewall stiffener reportedly reduces the ‘wallowing’ feeling often experienced on corners by drivers and a quicker steering response. Another feature of this tyre pattern is the tread which is designed to reduce noise at higher speeds.
The Discoverer H/T is a T/S-rated tyre, specifically targeted to fit a broad range of 4×4 and sports utility vehicles. The tyre features a solid centre rib designed to improve steering response while reducing noise. It’s notched circumferential grooves offer resistance to hydroplaning and improve traction. Shoulder wear is reduced by a semi-closed shoulder design, which delivers greater rubber density on the road.
For all-terrain applications there’s the Discoverer ATR which has replaced the AT and LT ranges is a T-rated tyre that features a five rib design to provide solid all terrain performance. State of the art computer-aided engineering has provided a tyre with favourable balance and handling capabilities whilst increasing the effectiveness of it’s gripping edges. This tyre is available with outline white letters or black sidewalls.
The Discoverer S/T is all-purpose light truck tyre designed for off-road applications, yet its large, beefy tread elements provide long, even wear for on-road use. The deep tread and scalloped shoulder design maximise traction on soft surfaces and it also boasts improved self cleaning capabilities. The Discoverer S/T’s all-weather tread compound provides excellent performance year round, on or off-road.
Aimed at off-road driving, the Discoverer STT is an aggressive tyre with superb traction and features Armor-tek anti-penetration technology. With it’s deep shoulder lugs and unique centre traction zone, this tyre was engineered for mud, sand or snow conditions.
