Maxxis Offers 4×4 Market Widest Range Yet
Following considerable sales in the USA, Maxxis is now targeting the UK 4×4 market with its largest range of off-road, on/off-road and road going tyres yet. Maxxis is promoting its products – which incorporate the biggest complete range to fit Land Rover 16 inch rims – with a high profile consumer advertising campaign in the leading 4×4 magazines, including Total Off Road, Land Rover World, Land Rover Monthly and Land Rover Enthusiast.
Meanwhile, Maxxis is expanding the range with the top-selling Marauder MA-S2 now available in four new sizes (235/60 R18 107V XL TL – for Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7 (2006 model onwards); 235/55 R18 100V TL – for Lexus RX300 [2003 model onwards] and RX400 [2005 model onwards]; 275/40 ZR20 106W XL TL – to fit the Range Rover [2005 model onwards], Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg; and 255/65 R17 110H TL – for Nissan Navara [2005 model onwards] and 2006 and younger Pathfinders)
The MA-S2 is an all-weather premium road-going 4×4 tyre with a unidirectional tread pattern an open shoulder design for water dispersal. Its MA-S1 stablemate gives superior traction and handling on wet roads and snow thanks to its unidirectional tread design, while two polyester body plies ensure a smooth and comfortable ride.
Other tyres in the Maxxis 4×4 range include: The MA-751 (Bravo Series) features an extra heavy-duty sidewall for responsive handling in all conditions, while the MT-753 features open shoulder lugs for superb self-cleaning capabilities. The all-terrain MA-752 boasts rugged durability and consistent performance, thanks to a heavy duty sidewall which gives added durability and an all-position large block tread design which ensures optimum handling on- and off-road.
Enhanced puncture resistance is a key feature of the Maxxis Bighorn Radial (MT-762), which delivers excellent traction in mud and on rocky terrain and superb handling on all hard surfaces. Staggered shoulder lugs provide extra grip, while the self-cleaning deep tread blocks boost performance and stability.
Other products include: the premium rubber compound-based Buckshot Mudder (MT-754); The Maxxis Creepy Crawler (M-8090), which variant in widths up to 40×13.5 to fit 15 to 17-inch; and the Trepador Radial (M-8060), which offers multi-curve tread siping for improved traction on loose dirt, while also enhancing braking and driving performance.
“Expanding the size range of one of our most popular road-going 4×4 tyres is a welcome boost and with popular patterns selling well and demand for the extreme off road Creepy Crawler and Trepador continuing to grow, I believe we have the most comprehensive 4×4 range on offer in the UK and can therefore target a greater share of this key market,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
