Kirkby Tyres Reports 20 per cent Sales Growth in 2007

Following a successful 2007 that saw Kirkby Tyres & Wheels achieve sales growth of 20 per cent, managing director, Dave Dorrity, is looking forward to meeting new and existing business partners in Essen: “Reifen 2008 is the ideal event for us to meet all our existing customers in the UK and Ireland who attend the show and perhaps meet up with potential new customers as well. There is no doubt that a great deal of UK and Irish companies visit during the course of the four day event so it is important that Kirkby are on hand to promote their tyre brands and services.”

The Kirkby stand (Hall 2:324) is expected to show a selection of most of the manufacturers and brands that the company acts as UK and Ireland distributors for.

Kirkby’s truck tyre portfolio includes the Double Coin steel radial range (for which the company hold sole agency status in the UK and Ireland) and incorporates sizes for every application including: 17.5, 19.5, 20, 225 and 24.5-inch sizes. Kirkby are also the sole UK agents for Protector steer, drive and trailer tyres. The wholesaler also supplies the Triangle brand of truck tyres. At the same time Kirkby can distribute premium brands including Goodyear, Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental, Pirelli and Firestone from stock at the company’s expansive headquarters in Liverpool.

In The OTR sector Kirkby supplies the full range of Double coin tyres ranging from 17.5 up to 29.5 inch and are now also supplying giant OTR Radial from Double coin 2400R35 and 35/65R33. In addition to this Kirkby also represents Belshina on Giant Non radial OTR tyres with sizes up to 2700-49

In the agricultural sector, as long standing sole agents for the Alliance brand the company can meet any order on an impressive number of agricultural tyres including the standard 80 Series radial and cross ply R1 Open Centres – 65, 70 and 85 series, high speed row crop (ranging from 32 through to 54 inches), grassland R3 plus industrial tractor R4 tyres.

The Alliance product range also incorporates an extensive wide flotation programme including sizes 20, 22.5, 26.6 and 30.5 inches in rib, drive and grassland, which are available in both cross-ply and radial high speed options. Kirkby are also agents for a number of Chinese manufactured agricultural patterns including Protector in popular sizes from 24 to 34 inches.

Kirkby’s agricultural portfolio also includes Petlas which is manufactured in Turkey – plus the company hold a number of various Indian brands in both front and rear size options. Kirkby markets itself as one of the leading specialists in tractor conversions, offering advice on tyre and wheel fitments along with a full range of high flotation, low compaction tyres.
