Vipal to Inaugurate New Factory this Year
This year Vipal is going to inaugurate a new factory, in Feira de Santana, Bahia (NE Brazil), having spent 160 million Brazilian reals (US$ 92 million, 48 million pounds) of investment on the project. Apart from construction of the factory in Bahia, Vipal also announced the construction of the first productive unit abroad. The company hasn’t revealed exactly where this plant will be, and the kind of investment that will be associated with the new plants has not yet been defined. However, Argentina and Mexico are said to be the countries that present “the great chance of receiving a new unit.”
“We want to expand and intensify exports to North America, Europe, Asia and Africa and to strengthen exports to and participation in the Latin American market. In the Arab market, the plan is to make a new incursion to identify possible partners, establish intense relations and seek more expressive participation in the market,” vice president João Carlos Paludo Paludo commented.
The company already has offices in the United States, Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Spain. “The time is for reconnaissance of the market so that an adequate strategy may be established, strengthening the structures so that in future a possible base in the region may be established,” stated Maria Locatelli, foreign business manager at the company.
