RMA Chief Shea Resigns, Interim In Place
In a surprise move, Don Shea has resigned as president and CEO of the Rubber Manufacturers Association. Shea, according to a statement released by the RMA, left to “pursue other opportunities.” His resignation was accepted by the RMA Executive Committee and is effective immediately.
Dr. Charles Cannon was appointed interim CEO while a search is conducted for a permanent successor. RMA officials expect the search to take six months. Cannon is president of Cannon Consultants, which provides management, funding and consulting services for a range of companies and groups, including trade associations.
According to the RMA statement, “Shea joined RMA in 1997 and his service to the industry and RMA membership has been greatly appreciated. The membership and staff of RMA wish him well in his future pursuits.”
